The aim of this project is to study the effectiveness of launching Bus Rapid Transit (Metrobus) in Moscow in nine corridors.
The initial data for creating the transport model were aggregate data on the movement of mobile subscribers between the zones (administrative districts of Moscow), open GIS data for the road network in Moscow, as well as data on the proposed Metrobus corridors. A field survey of traffic flows within the Moscow road network was also conducted using CCTV cameras.
On the basis of these data, a multi-agent transport model was created and the calculation was based on 8 scenarios. Potential demand for the system consisting of 9 Metrobus routes was estimated among users of private vehicles and public transport. The best settings for the start of one of the Metrobus lines were also determined.
